Education and Appointments: Yan Zhiying, male, born in 1980, holds a doctoral degree and is a third-level research fellow. He is currently a member of the Discipline Inspection Commission at the Research Institute, the member of the academic committee, the director of the Environmental Pollution Biological Control Project Group, the deputy director of the Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Environmental Microbiology, and the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Environmental and Applied Microbiology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has been selected as a leading talent in scientific and technological innovation in the Tianfu Qingcheng Plan of Sichuan Province, a distinguished position at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a "Western Light" young scholar of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the leader of a youth science and technology innovation research team in Sichuan Province. He also serves as a young editor for "Chinese Chemical Letters," a guest editor for "Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology," an editorial board member for "Journal of Applied and Environmental Biology," an editorial board member for "China Biogas," a director of the National Swine Industry Innovation Strategic Alliance, the deputy director of the Expert Committee of the Sichuan Organic Fertilizer Promotion Committee, a member of the Technical Committee of the Tianjin Engineering Research Center for the Safe Disposal and Energy Utilization of Organic Solid Waste, and a member of the Sichuan Solid Waste Committee. His main research work focuses on the biological transformation and utilization of agricultural waste. In the past five years, he has presided over and completed more than 50 national, provincial, ministerial, and enterprise-funded projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Key Research and Development Program. He has achieved outstanding results in high-temperature fermentation of straw/livestock and poultry manure, development and application of functional microbial agents, and odor pollution control. He has published over 100 papers, obtained 31 authorized patents, and co-authored three monographs, including one in English. His research achievements have won the first prize of the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the Shennong China Agricultural Science and Technology Award, the Dabeinong Science and Technology Award (first prize), and the second and third prizes of the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. His research results have been applied in more than 30 engineering demonstrations, including the development and production of biological preparations, anaerobic digestion of municipal sludge, aerobic composting, and biological deodorization.
