A NEW SPECIES OF RHACOPHORIDAE FROM YUNNAN, CHINA (AMPHIBIA, ANURA)

Feihyla fuhua sp. nov. (Figs. 1-6)Holotype male, adult, CIB584168, SVL 27. 2 mm, Qianjinxiang, Pingbian County ( 22. 58 degrees N, 103. 41 degrees E; alt. 1040 m), Yunnan Province, China; 16 Aug. 1958, collected by YANG Fu-Hua. Paratypes 5 males ( CIB584166-584167, 584169-584171), collected with the holotype in the same place and time, by YANG Fu-Hua et al.
The new tree-frog Feihyla fuhua from Pingbian, Yunnan differs from Philautus palpebralis Smith, 1924 in having: 1) snout largely longer than diameter of eye; 2) tympanum large, closing to rear corner of eye; 3) fingers not webbed; toes 1/3 webbed, reaching distal subarticular tubercle of fifth toe; 4) inner metatarsal tubercle 1/2 length of fifth toe; 5) dorsum of body grayish yellow or yellowish, with a pair brown red arc patterns; 6) a long and wide white streak from below eye to the base of shoulder; 7) no green spot on occiput in life; 8) dark bars on limbs.
In the latter having; 1) snout shorter, a little longer than diameter of eye; 2) tympanum small, far apart from rear corner of eye ( its distance from eye equal to its own diameter); 3) a rudiment of web between the outer two fingers; toes half webbed, reaching disc of fifth toe; 4) inner metatarsal tubercle 1/3 length of fifth toe; 5) dorsum of body reddish brown, without the " " mark; 6) a short and narrow streak from below eye to shoulder; 7) a green spot on occiput in life; 8) no dark bars on limbs.The type specimens are preserved in Chengdu Institute of Biology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The research entitled " A New Species of Rhacophoridae From Yunnan, China (Amphibia, Anura) " by Prof. FEI Liang and Prof.JIANG Jianping has been published in Acta Zootaxonomica Sinica,  35(2): 413-417.
