The project that “Demonstration and Spread of Tropical High-quality Hybrid Rice in Thailand and Other ASEAN Countries” charged by CIB, is an international key project issued from CAS International Cooperation Bureau. On July 11, 2009, CIB rice research group together with his counterpart Charoen Pokphand Group convened a joint meeting in Chengdu. Executive vice president of Zheng Da Thailand Group, also an agricultural expert Dr. ANEK SILAPAPUN, accompanied by other 11 experts including president of China Charoen Pokphand Group Mr.Qiu Quanbin, participated in this meeting.
In the morning, guided by Dr.Tu Shengbin of CIB, president An Nan and Qiu Quanbin with other experts visited CIB National Test Site of Crop New Varieties in Shuang Liu county, where they discussed the research strength of hybrid rice, autotetraploid rice etc, and related breeding and cultivation experience of rice and other crops. Then, experts from both sides agreed that it was important and very necessary to carry out the cooperation and exchanges in the future.
