Invited by Center for Natural Products of CIB, Prof. Guo Zhongwu of the Wayne State University, USA, visited CIB for academic exchanges. Prof. Guo is an well-known expert in chemical field including the research of new chemical synthetic method, total chemical synthesis of natural products, and new anticancer drug development etc. Moreover, Prof. Guo has already got more than 5 million dollars project funds from NIH, NSF (USA), American Cancer Society, and American Chemical Society etc. He has been bestowed upon many awards, such as Innovation Research Award of American Research Cooperation Organization and the Outstanding Youth Award of American Chemical Society. During this visit, he delivered a wonderful lecture with topic that “Synthesis and Biomedical Applications of Complex Glycoconjugates Including Glycolipids, Glycopeptides, Glycoproteins, Saponins, and Other Natural Products”. The presentation drew much attention to the participants.
